Education

Educational facilities are becoming increasingly specialized. Emphasis on active learning, formative assessment, social engagement and mobility are trending and forcing us to rethink traditional educational patterns and spatial relationships. The focus on learning rather than teaching allows us to reevaluate classrooms and to consider informal learning spaces for learning. If learning is not confined to scheduled classroom spaces and times, the whole building or campus then becomes an effective learning space anywhere and at any time. Design of the right spaces is becoming even more important as schools and institutions increasingly compete for students and funding. Factors such as the availability of food and drink, comfortable chairs, and furniture that supports a variety of learning activities are emerging as critical in the design of learning spaces. Our design team will work with you to rethink the use, design, and location of your learning spaces.
